Despite the continuous rain brought by Typhoon Maymay, TESDA-Concepcion Vocational School (TESDA-CVS) remained steadfast in its commitment to public service and environmental stewardship.
On August 6, 2026, TESDA-CVS, through Mr. Rico Briones, Assistant Professor IV, conducted a Community Outreach on Solid Waste Management at Barangay Malupa, Concepcion, Tarlac, in partnership with Barangay Malupa and the Concepcion Municipal Police Station.
More than 40 participants, including barangay officials, frontline community workers, and Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, took part in the activity. The outreach strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical understanding of ecological solid waste management, proper waste segregation, composting, recycling, resource recovery, and occupational safety.
The activity formed part of the kick-off celebration of TESDA’s 32nd Founding Anniversary, with the theme “Husay. Tibay. Tagumpay.” It was also conducted in accordance with the directive of TESDA Region III Regional Director Atty. Balmyrson M. Valdez for TESDA offices in Central Luzon to undertake simultaneous environmental activities in support of the anniversary celebration.
The initiative likewise supported the Green TVET and environmental sustainability initiatives of TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez, which promote environmental stewardship, climate resilience, responsible resource management, and the integration of sustainable practices into technical vocational education and training.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the successful conduct of the activity demonstrated the shared commitment of TESDA-CVS, the barangay, and its partner agencies to bringing relevant technical knowledge and environmental awareness directly to the community. Through collaboration, technical education, and shared responsibility, TESDA-CVS continues to empower communities by promoting sustainable practices and green skills, contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future.
