Concepcion Vocational School spearheaded by Dr. Consolacion Talisik successfully held the much-awaited Cook Fest of Cookery NC II trainees on June 30, 2025, with the theme “CVS Singkanyaman Food Festival – A Tilapia Cooking Contest Showcasing Filipino Culinary Heritage.”
The event highlighted the creativity, skill, and passion of Cookery NC II trainees as they showcased their culinary expertise in preparing innovative tilapia dishes inspired by Filipino traditions. The competition aimed not only to enhance the trainees’ competencies but also to promote the richness of local produce, particularly tilapia, which is abundant in Concepcion and neighboring towns.
Participants presented a variety of mouthwatering tilapia-based dishes, blending classic Filipino flavors with modern cooking techniques. The activity served as a platform for the trainees to demonstrate their learning outcomes, teamwork, and artistry in culinary presentation. It also emphasized the importance of sustaining Filipino food culture while adapting to contemporary trends.
Experts and Partner Industry representatives of the related industry served as judges, evaluating the dishes based on taste, creativity, presentation, and adherence to the theme. Winners were recognized for their outstanding performance and innovation, bringing pride not only to their respective groups but to CVS as a whole.
The Cook Fest was more than just a cooking competition—it was a celebration of Filipino culinary heritage, the dedication of the trainees, and the continuing mission of Concepcion Vocational School to produce skilled graduates who can excel in the food industry.
